Birmingham venue visits!

Rebecca and Sarah headed to Birmingham last Friday for a day full of meetings with hotels and venues. Although it was pouring it down the day was a success visiting a total of 6 venues in and around the city centre.

The first meeting of the day was at The Vox, located inside Resorts World Birmingham. This purpose built event space has five flexible suites which can be configured into a custom built event space accommodating up to 900 guests – the whole space can be hired out exclusively including the large Lakeview reception foyer. It is also the only conference venue in the UK to offer 4K resolution screens, as well as a giant media wall. The most noticeable thing about this venue is how creative and distinctive the space is, making it the perfect venue for clients who want something impressive and exclusive.

For the second meeting of the day Rebecca and Sarah headed downstairs to The Genting Hotel. The hotel has a total of 177 bedroom combining four-star bedrooms and five star suites with panoramic lakeside views, this hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy the full range of activities at Resorts World. Whilst visiting the hotel Rebecca and Sarah had a chance to view The Penthouse, which impressively can accommodate up to 60 guests reception. The meeting space had a central boardroom table but also featured a break out area at the back of the room with plush corner sofas. From entering the reception, to visiting the bedrooms and meeting rooms the feeling of decadence and indulgence is brought to life whilst only being minutes from outlet stores, eateries and event facilities such as, the Genting Arena, NEC and The Vox.

Following on from The Genting Hotel Rebecca and Sarah hopped on the train back into the City Centre for the third meeting of the day at the Park Regis. This venue was highly anticipated, as we were able to have a sneak peak at the 16th floor, which is undergoing a huge transformation to become the ‘Sky Suite’ event space. With floor to ceiling windows giving an incredible 360° panoramic views of the City, this was not to be missed. The hotel itself is beautiful with a modern and contemporary ambiance whilst still having the feel of a boutique hotel. It has a total of 8 meeting rooms, the largest of the spaces being able to accommodate up to 150 guests, with the new Sky Suite accommodating up to 300 guests which will be perfect for Christmas parties, gala dinners and conferences.

After Park Regis Rebecca and Sarah made their way across the road to The Marriott Hotel. Based in the heart of the City Centre this venue has 6 meeting rooms equipped with state of the art technology. The hotel has an American feel with lots of reds and browns. Closely located to the meeting rooms there is a newly refurbished restaurant and bar where guests can enjoy a range of craft beers and cocktails!

Next on the agenda to visit was the Crowne Plaza. This venue has a dedicated floor for all of its 11 meeting rooms, the largest space within the venue can host up to 300 guests in theatre. Whilst at the venue Rebecca and Sarah were also able to take a sneak peak at the private dining room, hidden behind the restaurant. This creates a perfect environment for a dinner with a much more intimate feel but with the benefit of the restaurants atmosphere.

Our final meeting of the day took place at the Hyatt Regency. Walking into the main reception was like entering a giant greenhouse, with the outdoors very much being brought indoors. This created a spacious feeling as the whole area was flooded with light. Whilst exploring the hotel Rebecca and Sarah visited the Symphony Ballroom located underneath the glass atrium roof of the hotel’s mezzanine level, which can accommodate up to 240 in theatre layout. The ballroom also has a large balcony area, which can be used for drinks receptions, catering and exhibitions.
