Peckforton Castle

On Friday 3rd March we had the pleasure of hosting a client trip at the magnificent Peckforton Castle, Cheshire! The evening began with a drinks reception in the fabulous wine cellar where we greeted our lovely clients and their guests before viewing the event spaces & facilities within the castle.

The Long Gallery, Drawing Room and Great Hall were dressed in Alice and Wonderland Theme for a charity event. The Great Hall takes 130 in a banquet layout and the Drawing room takes 160, these 2 rooms are separated by the Long Gallery in which there is a private bar, making it perfect for gala dinners or conferences with a perfect space for tea and coffee breaks!

We were then led to the spa where we were shown the gorgeous facilities which include 2 hot tubs, a Caribbean experience shower, sauna and treatment rooms! There really is so much to do on an incentive weekend or as a post conference relaxation session! Alongside this they have a HUGE array of team building activities you can take part in, this includes - Air rifle shooting, Archery, Fort boyard, Giant garden games, Laser clays, Mountain bikes, Picnic bag, Rollerball and stomp rocket, Treasure hunts and Segways amongst other things! Peckforton are also fortunate to have Land Rover based onsite who can offer an hour long driving session a half day or even a full day! They can put packages together for a corporate activity where up to 4 people per vehicle can take it in turns behind the wheel driving around the grounds in their man made dirt course! The off-roading course is a great way to reward staff, treat clients or create a unique ‘team building’ away day.

We then had a leisurely walk to the Hexagonal room for a delicious 5 course dinner, this room is located on the opposite end of The Long Gallery behind a doorway it was very separate to the large party booked in – we didn’t even know they were there during dinner! A great feature of this room is that there is a doorway leading directly to the kitchen so the food we were served was piping hot! We enjoyed a pre-starter of Aerated crème du barry and Cheshire rarebit beignet followed by a warm crottin of goats cheese, pickled walnuts, beetroot puree. For our main course we had Glazed chicken breast, grelot onions, pedro ximiniez and smoked bacon jus, accompanied by Chefs choice of vegetables, the desert was a beautiful 72% Dark chocolate parfait, rum ice cream, 24 carat gold and to finish off we enjoyed Coffee, tea and homemade petit fours all washed down with plenty of wine and prosecco of course!

The evening ended back in the Wine Cellar where our guests enjoyed cocktails and more wine before retiring up to their luxurious executive bedrooms.

We all had a brilliant evening at Peckforton Castle and guests feedback has been very positive! For more information on Peckforton or our venue finding services please don’t hesitate to email us using info@bell-events.co.uk
