Pennyhill Park

Laura & her husband Bobby recently stayed at the beautiful Pennyhill Park combining business with pleasure after meeting with a local client during Friday afternoon. Continue reading to find out more about this beautiful venue...

 

'We were greeted by the friendly doorman, Rob who took our luggage and arranged for our car to be parked, inside we were welcomed by a smiley receptionist who checked us in and advised our room would be ready shortly as we had arrived before 3pm.

 

We took the opportunity to walk around the extensive grounds and made our way back round to the spa and large outdoor pool & terrace area where we enjoyed a pot of tea whilst lying on the comfy sun loungers! The spa facilities are huge (45,000 sq.ft to be precise!!!) which include an extensive selection of treatment rooms and 8 pools which are located both indoor & outdoor – one has underwater music too which is very unique.  

 

After an hour relaxing in the sunshine we were shown to our suite - all of the bedrooms have names rather than numbers which is a nice touch (although you do need to remember where to go to find it!) – ours was called ‘Peony’ which had its own open plan lounge dining room downstairs with a separate toilet, a small hallway and a full stair case leading to the bedroom and huge bathroom! – The bathroom had its own TV opposite the roll-top bath with wall mounted waterproof controls so you could change channel / turn up or down without having to get out!

 

Pennyhill has 19 meeting rooms in total, most of which have beautiful wood panelling giving the rooms a luxurious executive feel. There are several event spaces over the hotel so perfect for anything from a small board meeting to a banquet for up to 240 guests in the Balmoral suite. A number of the rooms have either private terraces or access to the grounds which can incorporate outdoors breaks, BBQs and team building over the 120 acres of grounds.

 

With just 123 rooms & suites, Pennyhill can be hired out privately, allowing you the exclusivity of the entire house, the meeting rooms, tennis courts, croquet grounds, Canadian outdoor hot tubs, a 9 hole golf course and the huge spa! The location is ideal for guests either travelling from central London with a number of direct trains within a short taxi ride away or for those driving with it’s easy access from the motorway & Heathrow airport for those travelling internationally.

 

Pennyhill is part of the ‘exclusive hotels’ group and certainly has the exclusive feel but in a really nice welcoming way – the staff are friendly and approachable, the whole venue has a relaxed atmosphere which makes you feel comfortable and able to enjoy the luxurious settings – I know some 5 star venues can often make you feel a little wary about where & how you sit and can be slightly stuffy so it was refreshing to have the ‘home from home’ feel in such great settings.

 

We’d recommend Pennyhill for gala dinners, board / executive meetings and away days - with a number of attractions such as Ascot racecourse  & Windsor Castle only a short drive away it would be great to combine both for an incentive group too!
