Hannah has just got back from 3 nights in Dubai at the Meetings & Incentives Forum in Dubai, with back to back supplier meetings and lots of activities, read all about it:
“Well what an amazing few days I had at the M&I Forum in Dubai last week! I spent Wednesday flying out to Dubai with Emirates, and the hospitality and service provided by them onboard was outstanding! On arrival at Dubai International airport we were met by both the Worldwide Events team and Arabian Adventures who took us straight over to the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, which is the tallest hotel in the world! After a long flight we checked in, ready for a good night’s sleep before a full day of meetings on Thursday.
After a little lie in on Thursday morning I went down for breakfast, I have never seen so much choice! Fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, cooked breakfast and even stations where you could ‘tailor make’ your own breakfast with a choice of fillings for an omelette or request fresh eggs served any way you’d like! After a cup of coffee or two I headed over to the Ballroom for our briefing and meetings to commence. The first day consisted of 13 meetings with international hotels, ranging from Barcelona and Dublin, to Cannes and Portugal, these 18 minute appointments allowed the supplier to learn a little about Bell Events and for us to learn a lot about them, what they can offer and how we can work with them in the future! It was a very productive day, and it was great to meet lots of new contacts.
After a full day of meetings we went back to our rooms to freshen up, before heading back down to the Ballroom entrance where we got into our fleet of 4x4’s ready to embark on a desert safari! Once we arrived at the desert, we stopped for a reception with champagne and an amazing falconry display after which we carried on over to where the camp was all set up ready for us, with music, a belly dancing performance, henna, calligraphy writing, Shisha pipes, palm reading, camel riding and a huge buffet for dinner! The drinks were flowing and there was a lot of laughter and dancing, it’s safe to say it was a brilliant night and we really didn’t want it to end!
The following morning we were up bright and early with meetings commencing at 9am, the 26th and final meeting finished at 1:40pm and we then went on to enjoy a fabulous lunch, with lots of cultural dishes including paella, beef and Yorkshire puddings and freshly ‘made to order’ pasta. After enjoying lunch we met for the afternoons activities, some went on a yellow boat tour, others went for a heritage tour of the old town of Dubai while others went skiing in the snow park, I however went to the Park Plaza Dubai where I took to the skies in a seaplane!! The views were absolutely incredible with a birds-eye view of the Dubai skyline, The Palm and the beautiful Burj al Arab, it was honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had and I would highly recommend for Incentive groups, meetings or when on a leisure visit!
After returning back to the hotel from the Seawings experience I went up to my room to get ready for the final night and the after party! We had a coach transfer over to the Ritz Carlton where we were greeted by a line of staff members down the path to the entrance and all through the lobby, it really was an amazing welcome. We proceeded into the hotel, had a glass of champagne and took our seats for a 3 course meal, enjoying some local entertainment and a whole routine choreographed and performed by hotel staff, including the chef and maintenance staff! Awards were presented to the most valuable supplier and the most valuable buyer and then the DJ started, playing until the early hours. Everyone enjoyed cocktails, champagne and dancing before returning to the hotel at 1:30am for our last night’s sleep!
The trip, as I’m sure you can tell, was a memorable one and it was absolutely brilliant. From start to finish, the Arabian Adventures team, the team at the JW Marriott, worldwide events, M&I Forums and seawings, made my experience fabulous, and from it I will take away lots of new contacts, friends and memories!”
