InterContinental Park Lane client trip

Last month we hosted an exclusive client trip to the InterContinental hotel located on the prestigious Park Lane in London....

The evening began with a champagne drinks reception in the Arch Bar (the champagne flutes are amazing with really long elegant stems!). Laura from Bell Events, introduced five of our lovely clients to one another and also introduced Michelle from IHG.

We then made our way to the mezzanine level where we were able to see all of the meeting rooms including the large ballroom (which was being set for IHG’s annual meeting), the beautiful Park Lane suites (which not surprisingly have fantastic views over the park!) and the smaller boardrooms. Having a dedicated events floor is perfect for larger events where you want to have the main meeting taking place in the ballroom and then all your breakouts & catering space surrounding – it really is a very well thought out layout with lots of character and incredible views.

After seeing the event space we were fortunate enough to be able to have a peak into the newly refurbished Royal Suite which is on another level of luxuriousness, the decor is very chic yet homely, the furnishing were exceptionally plush & comfortable and the views were just fantastic - I think if you stayed in this suite you wouldn’t want to leave it!!

Next – the fun part! We were greeted in the Cookbook cafe with another glass of bubbly and two very friendly chefs who taught us how to make chocolate fondant – we took it in turns adding, whisking, stirring and folding the ingredients into a large bowl before dividing into our individual pots (and then adding extra large chocolate buttons just in case it wasn’t quite chocolate-y enough!!). Our fondants were then sent into the kitchens to be cooked whilst we continued with a tomato salad, sea bass and paired wines. Once mains were finished we were allowed a behind the scenes tour into the kitchens where we observed the talented Theo Randall at work. Theo took the time out to come over and pose for a picture with us ladies!! Our fondants were ready so quickly made our way back to the table as we were all keen to taste the results – AMAZING! Most definitely the best chocolate fondant I’ve ever had, especially as it was complimented with a very unusual but tasty jaffa cake ice cream!

We finished the evening with teas and coffees before saying our goodbyes – the chefs very kindly gave us all a copy of the chocolate fondant recipe so we can recreate it at home (I have yet to try!!).

I was lucky enough to stay over in one of the beautiful deluxe bedrooms with views over the park and Duke of Wellington Statue.
