Haydock racecourse & Marriott Worsley Park fam trip

October 22, 2014

Bell Events attended the Jockey Club's Haydock Park racecourse & Marriott Worsley Park familiarisation trip early last month and had a brilliant day & night!

On arrival at the Marriott we were greeted by the friendly sales team and were made very welcome, once we were introduced to the other agents & guests we had a brief site visit of the hotel. From the exterior Worsley Park doesn't look that big however their largest suite, The Worsley can accommodate up to 220 guests for a seated dinner and has a huge, self contained reception space with breakout rooms surrounding. The leisure facilities were equally as impressive with a large swimming pool, gym (and when I say gym I mean a proper gym with over 30 machines - not a small box room with a treadmill in the corner!)

After the site visit we were taken by taxi to Haydock racecourse which only took about 20 minutes. Haydock offers a huge variety of meeting spaces with stunning views over the  127 acres of land - which is normally complimentary to use for team building & activities when you hold a meeting or event within the racecourse.  There are seven large meeting rooms with many smaller breakouts available for conferences & events on non racedays.

We were treated to a private box and balcony with a panoramic view of the racecourse. The food was delicious and served conveniently before the first race began and allowed time for us to get our bets on!

After the races we were taken back to the Marriott for more cocktails and canapés to complete a great day - even though we had no winners! The bedrooms at Worsley Park were spacious, clean and comfortable.  In the morning we had a variety of choice for breakfast which is served in the main restaurant - we of course opted for the full English!
